At Reach for Outer Space we work with a variety of volunteers and community organizations to bring much needed supplies and joy to some of Canada’s most vulnerable families and schools.

Reach for Outer Space Reading Corners
Launched in 2017 our Reach for Outer Space Reading Corners
provide a comforting spot for children most in need to curl up and let their imaginations soar. Using generously donated high quality books and furniture, the Reading Corners are inviting, educational and inspiring reading areas uniquely designed and installed by volunteers. With plans for expansion across Canada, our first Reach for Outer Space Reading Corners have so far been created in Vancouver and Toronto in various social service facilities including women’s transition houses and shelters, community resource centres, furniture banks and refugee support services. We also work in partnership with the First Nations Schools Association of BC, delivering books and supplies to some of their most remote schools to create their own Reading Corners.

Reach for Outer Space Children’s Christmas Party
In partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of South Coast BC and with the help and generosity of many friends and family, the Reach for Outer Space Christmas Party provides a magical Christmas experience for over 200 underprivileged boys and girls in Vancouver each year. We grant each child two gifts from their wish list, together with a tasty lunch, gingerbread cookies and a stocking full of goodies including a new pair of boots and shoes. Founded 17 years ago and having served over 1700 children so far, bringing happy memories to each child is key to this event, and to all that we do.
